As a Laboratory Technician, I report to the shift chemist and or the shift supervisor. My role covers mostly bench work like assay preaparation and analysis, equipment checks and maintainace and adherence to safety systems and work environment. Some of these include:

• Gold by Fire Assay> Gravimetric and AAS finish
• Copper and Sulphur by XRF
• Wet Analysis> Fluorine by ISE, Radiology -Viscosity/pH/Specific Gravity/Moisture, Acid Soluble Copper etc ...
• Inventory> Consumables - PPE, Chemicals and Reagents, Glassware etc ...
• Take 5's , Job Safety Observations (JSO) and workplace safety Inspections

My role as Inspector facilitated the custody transfer of product from seller to buyer. I do shore-tank gauging, stop dip calculations and quantity and dry certification before and after loading for my clients. This is included:

• SHIPTANK INSPECTION/ Dry and Quantity CERTIFICATATION
• BILL OF LADING
• PRODUCT Gauging Calculations and SAMPLING

My duty as a Petroleum chemist covered sampling to preparation, analysis, reporting and inventory for consumables and PPE's. some of the testing included:

• Flash/ Pour/ Cloud/ Freeze Points
• Aromatics by HPLC/ Sulphur by XRF
• LPG Composition by Gas Chromatography reformulyzers
• Portable/ Process and treated Waste Water testing
• Oxidation, Viscosity and Mercury
• Metals by ICP MS/OES
• ULP Ron Rating by Engine
• Conductivity by conductivity meter

My role also sample registration and job creation since LIMS was Analog.
