  • My primary responsibilities include evaluating claims for marine, industrial special risks, general property, motor vehicles, medical claims, fidelity, public liability, and worker's compensation
  • I check that the claims fall within the policy's coverage and limitations
  • I respond to phone calls and emails from intermediaries and insured in order to handle issues as quickly as possible
  • I collaborate closely with the underwriting team to verify coverage is in place before accepting indemnity
  • I handle third-party property damage claims in the event that our clients are at fault
  • I always review claims that haven't received an update in at least a month
  • I conducted inspections at car workshops and garages to ensure that client vehicles accepted for repair were completed on time
  • I flagged claims that are complex and require the appointments of loss adjusters and investigators
  • I stepped in on behalf of the claims manager during her trips to New Zealand to attend leadership workshops, as well as during her leave from the office, to look after the claims team and reply to clients during her absence
  • I also helped our Solomon Islands office record claims on the Sirius Pur system, as well as review medical and motor vehicle claims under indemnity
