My interest is more about clinical pharmacy to provide clinical pharmacy services such as therapeutic drug monitoring, drug chart reviews and proper patient counseling about their medications and providing appropriate pharmaceutical advise to medical officers as per standard treatment guidelines. - Responsibilities: Provide dispensing services for hospital wards, Ensure effective and efficient supplies of pharmaceutical services, Ensure that requirements for drug storage, dispensing and recording of dangerous drugs are complied with hospital regulations or required standards. Supervise and control internal hospital drug supplies to wards including control of dangerous drugs, poisons, serological and biological products, heat sensitive and heat label drugs and preparations requiring specialized control and usage. Requisition for supplies. Advise Pharmacy Coordinator and medical staff on drug availability, toxicity dosages and suitable alternatives drugs. Promote rational and economical usage of drugs, medical supplies and equipment. Review drug charts and do ward imprest orders. Inventory stock control using INSTA-HMS. Examine ward stock to detect macroscopic changes to determine drug deterioration, arrange product recall and replacement test and analyze suspected drugs for counterfeit products. Assist in the training of pharmacist students from UPNG and intern pharmacist.
